    Steve was hands on from the beginning, getting his hands dirty with picking, pruning and cellar hand work and planting his own vineyards, building his first winery.  Steve has enjoyed great success. Today, the Serafino vineyards have expanded to over 300 acres of prime McLaren Vale land including, a new state of the art winery, purpose built for small batch production. Serafino make brilliant Shiraz and alternative varietals but also manage to conjure magic in unexpected ways. McLaren Vale does not have a world class reputation for Chardonnay or Cabernet production, yet, year in year out, make fabulous Chardonnay and Cabernet.

    Kaesler Wines

    The Kaesler family arrived in the Barossa Valley from Silesia in the 1840s and in 1891 purchased land in the Barossa, spending two years furiously planting. They planted 96 acres of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro, along with a few white varieties. Some of the original Shiraz vines are still producing grapes which provide great intensity and depth to many of Kaesler’s wines.

    We tasted hundreds of wines earlier this year at the massive German Trade wine fair, Prowein, at the Italian wine expo Vinitaly and throughout various Italian wine regions. Overseas we tasted and reviewed the wines at least twice and then we did it all again as a panel back in Australia, tasting and reviewing the best wines from those shortlisted for consideration. We settled on a very select few - just the 17 superb wines which are now in stock. Drum roll please…
