Sparkling Red wine is inherently Australian, with the first instances of it being traced back to the late 1800s in Victoria… but you can Google that yourself. What we’re interested in is what’s currently available and drinking well… there’s something quite life-enriching about finding a sparkling red that hits you in all the right spots. Christmas cake richness, generous fruit, fine acidic line… whatever your preference, if you can’t find what you’re looking for here, we’re not doing our job properly and you should give us a call to tell us off…

- Dowie Doole Moxie Sparkling Shiraz NVSpecial Price $35.00 Regular Price $40.00Since 1996, Chris Thomas has maintained a shiraz solera which form part of this lip smacking sparkling. The solera contains some of the best shiraz Chris has made over the last 20+ years and is used sparingly and exclusively to add the finishing touches to his sparkling shiraz each year and adds depth of flavour and complexity. This is sparkling shiraz as we love it- opulent, slightly sweet, with richness, complexity, oak and plenty of fine tannins. That structure combined with flavours of blackberry, cherry. dark chocolate and spice making this a perfect accompaniment to protein, like roast chook, bacon and eggs, etc. It's bloody good. - Eight at the Gate Wrattonbully Sparkling Shiraz NV$30.00Medium-bodied, off-dry and complex. This is a blend of 2019 Shiraz aged in oak and 2021 Shiraz aged in stainless. Both vintages were exceptional. The 2 were then blended and a fairly small dosage for sweetening was added. This is spiced, aromatic, plummy, and Christmas cakey all at once. Lovely. Learn More
