2021 was a hell of a year: Meghan and Harry talked to Oprah, Tokyo hosted the Olympic games, Britney Spears found freedom, the NASA Rover landed on Mars and, of course, that virus was still rampaging across the planet. Phew.
Oh yeah, and there was wine. Lots of wine (like, the biggest vintage on record). Excellent wine (quantity did not mean compromising on quality). Thank goodness for that. Was great wine nature’s reward to us for getting through the dumpster fire of 2020? We like to think so.
The 2021 vintage in Australia shaped up to be an excellent one, thanks to ideal growing conditions. There was an almost perfect balance of sunshine, ideal temperatures and just the right amount of rain across the country’s wine regions.
