A Ripping Selection of Reds
A wonderful selection of red wines from the Clare Valley, Adelaide Hills, Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley. The Sieben Klon is a 95 pointer made by former St Henri growers, the Metala Legacy is as good a Cab as the Langhorne can make (which is mighty fine). Dowie Doole's Shiraz has black fruits, but also, and much rarer, blue fruits too. It is a belter. If all Shiraz had black and blue fruits, no one would buy anything else! Lone Palm's Old Vine Grenache will sell out in a few months and the Angas King Reserve is incredibly fresh for its age and has at least a decade ahead of it. We're predicting a lot of staff orders for this one.

Serious, old vines Grenache this- with a degree of intensity you don’t always find in Grenache. As with the incredible first vintage which sold out in just a few months, the 22 is bolstered with the inclusion of some powerful, low yielding, old vine Shiraz. The tannins are plentiful and savoury, the fruits black, flecked with reds and tightly coiled. Needs decanting, Officially awesome!
Barossa Valley, SA

An exceptional wine, even more powerfully fruited than the 2019. Made by former Penfolds St Henri growers, the Lienert brothers. Each of the 7 distinct clones were harvested and fermented separately with the harvest date chosen to best allow each grape to express its best characters. For instance, the EVOS12 (Eden Valley clone) was harvested earlier than the others to allow for a beautiful perfume and liveliness in the final wine. Fermentation is done in tiny open top fermenters which are hand plunged up to 4 times a day. Certain clones are fermented cooler to better express delicate aromatics whilst some are plunged and pumped over heavily to achieve a more structural element. The trick is finding the right balance. Anyways, we love this wine and encourage you to give it a rip.
McLaren Vale, SA
Gold Medal
A brilliantly complex yet powerful Shiraz. The Blewitt Springs plantings provide fragrance and delicious blue fruits, the California Road plantings bring blackstrap, black and blue fruits, power and chewy tannins. Wonderful already and should comfortably improve for more than a decade.
Clare Valley, SA
94pts Wine Pilot, 95pts Sam Kim
Rich, black, dark, deep, powerfully fruited and structured with a decent lick of oak. Old school but drinking beautifully thanks to its age. Blackcurrant, black olives, bay leaf, dark chocolate, zesty acidity and cedary oak make this a powerful pleasure right now. Will continue to improve tho, for at least a decade.
Langhorne Creek, SA

An incredibly rich and vibrant nose laden with black cherries, violets blackcurrants, herbs and cedar leads to a palate pleasingly awash with the same. Texture, length, intensity and the fine-grained finish are all exceptional.
Adelaide Hills, SA
A full bodied, intense and varietal Cab from the warm 2018 vintage, tamed by close to 2 years’ maturation in 60% new French oak, and a few years bottle age. Drinking beautifully already, this offers black fruits, violet, tobacco leaf and dark chocolate. Works beautifully with all things lamb.
