1847 wines and Chateau Yaldara are the same beast. The reference to 1847 in the full winery branding (1847/ Yaldara Wines) is a tad confusing perhaps, referring to the year the governor granted the land on which the property resides. It is also the same year in which Johann Gramp first planted vines in the Barossa. Yaldara estate itself was founded a hundred years later, when Hermann Thumm began making Barossa wines. The word Yaldara comes from a local indigenous word meaning sparkling.
