A brilliantly complex yet powerful Shiraz. The Blewitt Springs plantings provide fragrance and delicious blue fruits, the California Road plantings bring blackstrap, black and blue fruits, power and chewy tannins. Wonderful already and should comfortably improve for more than a decade.
Dowie Doole have substantial holdings of 53 acres which are biodynamic in conversion and managed by Dave Gartelmann, one of the best viticulturists in the Vale. They have vines in Blewitt Springs – a cooler part of the Vale which produces exceptional Grenache and on California Road (one of the best sections of the Vale for Shiraz).

This week we sipped on not one, not two but three bottles of Mr Riggs Montepulciano wine. Mr Riggs is a James Halliday 5 star rated winery which is a pretty amazing achievement in itself. You know when you crack open any wine from these guys we are talking about a glass of seriously good wine and this one didn't disappoint either!
