2018 2020 Shiraz Wines
Shiraz wine is the most iconic of all Aussie varieties – from big and bold Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale Shiraz through to the cooler climate expressions from Hunter Valley, Clare Valley, the Adelaide Hills and beyond… Shiraz red wine remains king in Australia, despite it being incredibly divisive at WDHQ; Adam (Digital Manager) would rather drink tepid hot dog water whereas Phil (Sales Manager) champions it so much so that he has started making his own… All of our offerings below have been thumbsed up by the Tasting Panel and are all the evidence you need to see why this variety has continued to reign supreme. Step away from the hot dog water Adam... step away.

- Kilikanoon Meymans Shiraz 2020Special Price $40.00 Regular Price $50.00Whilst 2020 was a challenging growing season and yields were very low, fruit quality and concentration were excellent, even exemplary. There is concentrated black and blue fruit here, along with cedar and spice. The acid is fantastic, playing the perfect underscore to the fruit and giving this wine excellent lift and length. Tannins are fine and firm. Superb to drink now and for the next decade. Learn More
- Lienert Vineyards 'Sieben Klon' Barossa Shiraz 2020Special Price $40.00 Regular Price $50.00An exceptional wine, even more powerfully fruited than the 2019. Made by former Penfolds St Henri growers, the Lienert brothers. Each of the 7 distinct clones were harvested and fermented separately with the harvest date chosen to best allow each grape to express its best characters. For instance, the EVOS12 (Eden Valley clone) was harvested earlier than the others to allow for a beautiful perfume and liveliness in the final wine. Fermentation is done in tiny open top fermenters which are hand plunged up to 4 times a day. Certain clones are fermented cooler to better express delicate aromatics whilst some are plunged and pumped over heavily to achieve a more structural element. The trick is finding the right balance. Anyways, we love this wine and encourage you to give it a rip. Learn More
