Wines from around the route of this year's Tour Down Under- a Red Peloton if you like, that will keep you intimately close to the route and riders as you follow the lycra clad ladies and lads around most highly prized bipedal event in the Southern Hempsphere.

The route takes in sections of the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley, so we've included a couple of Pinots from the Adelaide Hills, a magical Shiraz and a stunning Cab from McLaren Vale, and 2 brilliant Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. You'll be able to crank your arm at leisure while the riders are stressing theirs to the max!

Leading the way, the Picardy, an 11 clone masterpiece with most of the clones sourced direct from Grand Cru growers in Burgundy and most of those retained by the Pannell's for use in Picardy Pinot only. Little wonder this is one of the most fancied Pinot in the country at the moment. Next up Heirloom's Velvet Fog, a powerful, almost muscular wine which is elevated by its nuanced red fruit perfume. Riposte's Dagger is light to medium bodied with delicate aromatics and the Solaris is another Adelaide Hills Pinot with plenty of flavour and an excellent texture.

A Chardonnay baker's dozen here, probably the first one we've ever put together! Quality kit too, with a $75 RRP Adelaide Hills Chardy from Solaris, a gold medal winner from Curtis, creamy goodness from Smalltown and a lovely Coonawarra Chardy from Katnook. So far, $462 worth for $265.

The kicker? a 13th bottle from Jean Loron... taking the total value to $582. This is an excellent white Burgundy offering layers of flavour and complexity. JL have been cranking out wine since 1711 and this premium bottling offers stone fruits, creaminess, minerality and that special creamy-meets-cheesy continuum you get when high quality fruit spends time on yeast solids in barrel. Just cracking Riesling here... The Gomersal is a lime laden lovely and gold winner from the Adelaide Show. The Curator offers lime and grapefruit, citrus blossom and pith. Claymore's Horse is just as elegant and racy as the name implies and the Jeanneret Sevenhill is a 96 point stunner - ethereal, citrus-laden and powerful. Finally, the Vickery Castine Hill is magnificent - it is Huon Hook's equal highest rated Clare Riesling from the 2020 vintage, from 67 reviewed. He says, '...superbly fresh and aromatic nose of fresh-cut flowers, lemon juice and pith, honey and citrus blossoms, the palate super-fine and delicate in its structure but marvellously intense in flavour, the acidity perfectly balanced and the finish very long and seamless, with perfect line. The finish is very dry and has a whisper of tannin assisting the dryness. A delicious wine, and one that should continue to age superbly'. Learn More
