Coonawarra producer Majella is one of the most awarded wineries in the land. The family have been in the region for 5 generations, first planting vines in 1968. Today they have 144 acres of stunning vineyard and a trophy cabinet which is as chokkers as Jabba the Hut’s dressing gown. Their Composer 21 Cabernet has picked up a gold medal at the Royal Adelaide Wine show, 5 other golds, a top gold and 4 trophies, including the Winestate Magazine Trophy for best Cabernet of the year!!! The original Langhorne Creek plantings of Shiraz from 1891 form the backbone and majority of this Shiraz from the brilliant 2021 vintage from Metala. The fruit is rich, the flavours complex and long, showing off the vine age as chocolate, cherries, pepper, blueberries and more cavort long before being wrapped up in quality, cedary oak. A beautifully silky and expressive mid-weight shiraz. Blackberries, plums, chocolate, with red fruits and great acidity too. While it is midweight, the fruit concentration is excellent and will satisfy you if you like your wines on the big side. A cracker, which will only improve with time. Learn More

An exceptional, brightly, and intensely fruited medium-bodied Shiraz sourced from 50-year-old Langhorne Creek vines. Bold red and black fruits are bolstered by good acidity. The wine is finished with vanilla, spindles of oak, and fine tannins. Learn More

One of the most insane quality vs price ratios on the planet. Hand tended vines are picked by a Pellenc select harvester- which pick just the absolute best fruit. 12 separate clones of Shiraz are fermented separately using wild yeast, given extended maceration on skins and matured in French oak for 15 months. Finally, only the best barrels are blended and bottled. That sounds to us like most high-end producers $60-$100+ Shiraz. No surprise this has picked up 96 pts. from Halliday and 12 gold medals. A lovely low acid, textural PG. Perfect with a plate of Carbonara or Fish n Chips, this offers baked apples, ginger, custard and pears. A perfect ‘first glass’ of the evening, but even better with the aforementioned dishes. Would also work at the end of the evening with an aged Comté cheese. Learn More

A cracking and deceptive Sangiovese. What initially appears to be soft and fruity quickly reveals a strong core of fruit and plentiful tannins and acidity. A genuinely excellent Sangio which is a joy to drink now and will improve with age. Learn More
