Picardy Majella Best Wines Under $50

Coonawarra producer Majella is one of the most awarded wineries in the land. The family have been in the region for 5 generations, first planting vines in 1968. Today they have 144 acres of stunning vineyard and a trophy cabinet which is as chokkers as Jabba the Hut’s dressing gown. Their Composer 21 Cabernet has picked up a gold medal at the Royal Adelaide Wine show, 5 other golds, a top gold and 4 trophies, including the Winestate Magazine Trophy for best Cabernet of the year!!! A properly exceptional SBS from Picardy in Pemberton Western Australia. Three separate clones of SB are used, with 10% of the fruit whole bunch pressed and 2 different yeasts used to help build complexity. On opening it seems soft and delicate but as it airs, minerality, guava, lime, passionfruit and all manner of complexities emerge.
