Massena 'Stonegarden' Riesling 2018

A single vineyard wine from the very famous Stonegarden vineyard planted in the Eden Valley in 1947. Utterly delicious, with lemon juice, citrus blossom, lime, lemongrass and an engaging texture. World class.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Dan and Jaysen are great protagonists of the artisanal approach to wine making and the Barossa’s heritage of old vines. In a scene that today seems almost as bizarre as a male politician appointing himself Minister for Women, a patch of 60 year old Shiraz vines in the North-Western Greenock district of the Barossa was close to being bulldozed. With a lot of love for the Barossa’s old vines and perhaps a dash of foresight, mates Dan and Jaysen lobbied the grower to sell the fruit to them instead, and the “Eleventh Hour” Shiraz was born. Not limiting themselves to the traditional Barossa varieties, Massena also produce rippingly good wines from Riesling, Viognier, Saperavi, Tannat, Durif, Barbera and Primitivo.
