- Eight at the Gate Wrattonbully Sparkling Shiraz NV$30.00Medium-bodied, off-dry and complex. This is a blend of 2019 Shiraz aged in oak and 2021 Shiraz aged in stainless. Both vintages were exceptional. The 2 were then blended and a fairly small dosage for sweetening was added. This is spiced, aromatic, plummy, and Christmas cakey all at once. Lovely. Learn More

- Leasingham Bin 61 Shiraz 2021Special Price $20.00 Regular Price $25.00Leasingham wines have been around since the 1890s and have been steered by a series of legendary winemakers over the years. It wasn’t until the early 70s that the Bin series kicked off, with a Bin 61 Shiraz and a Bin 56 Cab Malbec. These were both highly prized for their exceptional quality and regular ability to out-perform wines selling at 2-3 times their asking price. A few of us from WD were lucky enough to attend a vertical tasting with Tim Knappstein (one of the aforementioned and legendary Leasingham alumni) a decade or so ago and came away incredibly impressed with the quality and consistency of the wines. We looked at over 20 vintages, and everything we tasted was still showing fruit, the best of them were exceptional. So it’s a little sad that the '21 may be the last vintage of the Bin 61 Shiraz. Lots of good stuff here, black tea, chocolate, coffee grounds, mint, plum, charcuterie, and blackberries. The overall impression is of mid-weight fruit, an even balance between softness, fine tannin and good length. Cracking value for money. Drink now through 2030. Learn More
- Longview Devil's Elbow Cabernet Sauvignon 2022Special Price $30.00 Regular Price $32.00A tightly coiled Cab that needs a little coaxing by way of an hour or 2 in the decanter. While that's happening, turn your thoughts to lamb and what you might be eating in an hour or 2 when the wine is cherry ripe. Funnily enough, we found cherries here, along with blackcurrant, cocoa, tomato leaf and a plushness emerging from an intense baseline once the wine had gulped a little air. You can see the promise on opening, but post decanting, the Trophy and gold medals this wine has won make a great deal of sense. Learn More
- Longview Queenie Pinot Grigio 2024Special Price $25.00 Regular Price $27.00A lovely Pinot Grigio, well named, as it takes after the lean racy styles which come out of Italy. Fresh, crunchy Nashi pear, pear tannins, a little pepper and a hint of citrus here. Perfect with seafood, or as an aperitif. Learn More
- Longview Whippet Sauvignon Blanc 2023Special Price $25.00 Regular Price $27.00Classic Sauv Blanc here; the nose an explosion of passionfruit, snow pea tendrils and gooseberry; the palate, light and fruit intense. A lovely wine. Learn More
- Longview Yakka Shiraz 2022Special Price $30.00 Regular Price $32.00Classic high-end, Adelaide Hills Shiraz this, offering bold fruit, firm structure, graphite laden oak and fine but firm tannins. Cherries, pepper and spice here, best coaxed out with a decant an hour or 2 before drinking. While you are waiting, fire up a charcoal grill. Learn More
- Picardy Pemberton Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc 2019$30.00We know this wine pretty well, having tasted every vintage produced since inception. Tight in its youth, this is released with plenty of age so that it's just hitting its straps when you first order it. Medium bodied with plenty of fruit intensity, brightness of fruit and plenty of super-fine tannin. Offers cedar, tobacco, chocolate and blackcurrants. As it ages it will grow increasingly complex, lush and thoughtful. Learn More
- Picardy Pemberton Pinot Noir 2021Special Price $58.00 Regular Price $70.00
Pinot Noir is Bill and Dan Pannell’s great love, especially the Pinots of Burgundy. With every year Bill and Dan get a little closer to making the ‘perfect pinot’. When our buyer Matt left Picardy (he was vineyard serf and assistant winemaker until 2003), the wine was made from 5 clones, including the highly prized Burgundian selection ‘777’ which Bill Pannell spent close to a decade getting into Australia. You’ll now find a number of Aussie wineries with 777 planted, all thanks to the hard work of the Pannells. Today the Pinot is made from 11 individual clones, 6 of which have been sourced from Corton, Burgundy. Whilst the wine was excellent back in the early 2000’s, it is now superb, one the best Pinot Noirs made in Australia, year in, year out. The 2021 is perfectly balanced, structured, chalky, elegant and mineral. There are plenty of red fruits, spice, and cedar. The perfect balance of fine boned acidity, mouthfeel and texture makes this wine seem elegant and effortless, yet it is incredibly powerful and deep. Tannins on the finish are glassine in a very Burgundian fashion. Magnificent.
