Aussie Merlot doesn’t get more complex or highly awarded than Irvine’s Grand Merlot, twice recipient of the best Merlot in the world award. Recent releases are even better structured and livelier thank the oldies, and we are confident the 2018 will improve for 10 years plus. The 2018 exceeds the power and complexity of the 2017 vintage, adding a rich sheen of plum and fig to the mix of violet, blueberry, dark chocolate and five spice. A tightly coiled Cab that needs a little coaxing by way of an hour or 2 in the decanter. While that's happening, turn your thoughts to lamb and what you might be eating in an hour or 2 when the wine is cherry ripe. Funnily enough, we found cherries here, along with blackcurrant, cocoa, tomato leaf and a plushness emerging from an intense baseline once the wine had gulped a little air. A lovely Pinot Grigio, well named, as it takes after the lean racy styles which come out of Italy. Fresh, crunchy Nashi pear, pear tannins, a little pepper and a hint of citrus here. Perfect with seafood, or as an aperitif. Learn More

Classic Sauv Blanc here; the nose an explosion of passionfruit, snow pea tendrils and gooseberry; the palate, light and fruit intense. A lovely wine. Learn More

Superb small batch single vineyard PG from Keeda Zilm. Fruit is sourced entirely from Glen Kelly's vineyard in Sevenhill. Pears, spice, crisp green apple and an underlay of lime zest. Plenty of acid here to provide drive and a lovely mouthwatering aspect. The palate is just beginning to show the texture which develops so appealingly as PG ages. Learn More

This is a blend of old vine Riverland Shiraz and powerful Barossa Cabernet. There are red and black fruit aromatics and flavours, including chocolate, cherries, graphite and violets. An excellent steak wine. Learn More

A beautifully zingy, crisp apply number. This is refreshing and at 11% relatively low in alcohol. Quite dry too and with good acidity giving it length. Importantly it is made from the Glera grapes grown on the Fleurieu Peninsula, the traditional grape of Italian Prosecco. Learn More

A premium red From Zonte’s off their own vineyard in the Adelaide Hills. Stacks of spice, pepper, black and blue fruits here. The nose is remarkably expressive, the pallet long and deep. You could argue that this is their best wine.

TA superb single vineyard, soft, spicy and black-fruited beast with plums and blackberries spiced with pepper and five spice and served on cedary oak. Tannins are fine and soft, making this an excellent accompaniment to food. Like Rhone blends! We love 'em. This is definitely worth a look!
