Learn More - Bleasdale Frank Potts 2021$39.00A casual 97 points from James Halliday! Oh, and four trophies and a 'stacks on' pile of golds and top gold medals. This is dense and complex, whilst also being taut and linear. Awesome now (post decanting), but will live for 20 years with careful cellaring, perhaps more. Red and black fruits here, with quality cedary spindles and exceptional length. Learn More
- Bleasdale Sparkling Shiraz NV$25.00All about the red fruits and plum here, in a fluffy, lush, cuddly, generous and bubbly setting. There’s Christmas cakey spices and a hint of quince paste to boot. Lip smackingly delicious. Learn More
- Ca Vegar Bardolino DOC 2023$45.00Its bigger than Pinot, and of course has a different flavour profile, but in the UK plenty of punters who drink Pinot are equally enamoured of Bardolino. 'But it is made from the same grapes as Amarone', we hear you say. It is, and Bardolino is only half an hour from that region, but the wines are altogether brighter and far more delicate than you'll find there. This Bardolino sees about 6 months in oak, followed by some time in tank prior to bottling – red fruits and violet form the nose. It is red fruity, pulpy and fleshy and finishes tight and dry, with excellent length, minerality, plenty of acid and fine tannins. Drink it with rich meaty dishes or oily fish. Definitely a food wine and absolutely worth decanting. Learn More
- Colli Vicentini Romeo Prosecco DOC$35.00Aromatic and laden with green apple and citrus, sherbet and fruit tingle, this is an excellent prosecco. The palate is textural and (within specs) has good mouthfeel. Consider pairing with a plate of something spicy! Learn More
- Curator Wine Co Single Barrel Grenache 2020Special Price $80.00 Regular Price $125.00We only got 96 bottles sadly, but then only 500 were made so I guess we should consider ourselves lucky! From a tiny. 100 yo vineyard, cool ferment, foot stomped into old French oak for just over a year. Satsuma plum fruits with raspberry and Chinese 5 spice, licorice, ginger, and more. Learn More
- Evans & Tate Redbrook Estate Shiraz 2019$40.00The best fruit from the Estate vineyard was handpicked and fermented as 90% whole bunches then treated to 9 months in older, large format French oak. It’s complex, offering mulberries, liquorice, olive, cassis, white pepper and plums before finishing with curlicues of cedary oak and a wave of fine tannins. A spectacular Shiraz. - Evans and Tate Redbrook Margaret River Chardonnay 2022$40.00
Delicate and complex and with a long life ahead of it, the 22 Redbrook Chard offers a tight citrus line underpinned by stonefruits, creamy lees and a hint of reductive smokiness and funk. Intense, fresh yet rich and with a beautiful texture.
Learn More - Leasingham Bin 61 Shiraz 2021Special Price $20.00 Regular Price $25.00Leasingham wines have been around since the 1890s and have been steered by a series of legendary winemakers over the years. It wasn’t until the early 70s that the Bin series kicked off, with a Bin 61 Shiraz and a Bin 56 Cab Malbec. These were both highly prized for their exceptional quality and regular ability to out-perform wines selling at 2-3 times their asking price. A few of us from WD were lucky enough to attend a vertical tasting with Tim Knappstein (one of the aforementioned and legendary Leasingham alumni) a decade or so ago and came away incredibly impressed with the quality and consistency of the wines. We looked at over 20 vintages, and everything we tasted was still showing fruit, the best of them were exceptional. So it’s a little sad that the '21 may be the last vintage of the Bin 61 Shiraz. Lots of good stuff here, black tea, chocolate, coffee grounds, mint, plum, charcuterie, and blackberries. The overall impression is of mid-weight fruit, an even balance between softness, fine tannin and good length. Cracking value for money. Drink now through 2030. Learn More
- Purple Hands 'Colours of the South' Pinot Gris 2024Special Price $26.00 Regular Price $30.00A little riper than most PGs, this definitely a nod towards the style of Alsace. Gorgeous ripe pears and musk on the nose and palate which is already creamily textural. This mid-palate mouthfeel will continue to develop with time as the wine grows into itself. Only free run juice from whole bunch pressings were used and a small percentage of the wine spent time in old French oak. The result is a mixture of freshness and texture. This is a wonderful Pinot Gris Learn More
- Purple Hands Shiraz 2022Special Price $30.00 Regular Price $45.00An intense medium to fullbodied Shiraz with plenty of fragrance and even more fruit. Silky tannins, bold black and blue fruits, liquorice, raspberries, dark chocolate and spice knitted together with savory oak and fine tannins. Incredibly long finish. Learn More
- Purple Hands Wines 'Colours of the South' Rosso 2020Special Price $25.00 Regular Price $35.00A delightful, Italian inspired, medium bodied, three way blend of Montepulciano, Negroamaro and Aglianico. Bloody delicious? Yep. Learn More
