This is high altitude, cool climate Pinot made in the Burgundian tradition. It is estate grown, hand harvested. whole bunch fermented and foot stomped, then spends 6 months in new French oak. It's superb already and will unleash layers of complexity as it ages. Our average score on the tasting panel was nudging 96, which is pretty unusual.

Dark cocoa, red plum, tobacco, blackberries. Plenty of acid and a long finish with fine tannins. We don't make much Malbec here in Oz, less than Argentina, who grow about 3/4 of the world's Malbec, less than France, the US, and South Africa. A lot of what we do make gets blended away to good effect with Cabernet. It's amazing how often a straight Cab is improved with the addition of Malbec. It's a pity, because Malbec is an exceptional straight varietal, and the Briar Ridge is a great example.

Rich, complex, fragrant and textural, this is a ripper. It has spent time in old French oak with batonage, aka lees stirred, employed to accentuate the wonderfully velvety fruit. If you like rich Viognier or buttery Chardonnay, this is worth a look.

Outstanding! We gave it 97 on our tasting panel, and shortly thereafter, this picked up a trophy at the Hunter Boutique Wine Show. This is a medium bodied, aromatic Rhone style, with purple and blue fruits, smoky notes, redcurrant panna cotta, mulberry, black pepper, and violets. Loads of spice here, purple flowers and more. Its bigger than Pinot, and of course has a different flavour profile, but in the UK plenty of punters who drink Pinot are equally enamoured of Bardolino. 'But it is made from the same grapes as Amarone', we hear you say. It is, and Bardolino is only half an hour from that region, but the wines are altogether brighter and far more delicate than you'll find there. This Bardolino sees about 6 months in oak, followed by some time in tank prior to bottling – red fruits and violet form the nose. It is red fruity, pulpy and fleshy and finishes tight and dry, with excellent length, minerality, plenty of acid and fine tannins. Drink it with rich meaty dishes or oily fish.
