Zonte's Footstep Canto Di Lago Sangiovese Barbera Lagrein 2015

The new vintage of this cracker of an Italian varietal blend has now been beefed up with a touch of Lagrein for a blend that Zonte’s refer to as their “Italian Tricycle.” As was the case with the previous vintages, savoury red fruit and cherry on the palate with the addition of some pleasing peppercorn spice. Still screams out to be paired equally well with chargrilled meat or wood oven pizza.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Over the last decade and a bit, Zonte’s have regularly picked up trophies, medals and accolades for their wines, most of which sell between $18 and $25 a bottle. Pretty much every wine they make receives a significant accolade or a glowing review or 3. Their emphasis is always on quality fruit and never too much oak and the finished wines are always delicious from the moment they are released.
