The original Langhorne Creek plantings of Shiraz from 1891 form the backbone and majority of this Shiraz from the brilliant 2021 vintage from Metala. The fruit is rich, the flavours complex and long, showing off the vine age as chocolate, cherries, pepper, blueberries and more cavort long before being wrapped up in quality, cedary oak. This is a soft, spicy, black-fruited beast with plums and blackberries spiced with pepper and five spice and served on cedary oak. Tannins are fine and soft, making this an excellent accompaniment to food. Like Rhone blends! We love 'em. This is definitely worth a look!
