The Bulging Baker's Dozen

The good stuff is fair bulging at the seams in this bundle - lucky our cartons are strong!

There's a single bottle of Martins Shiraz, a magnificently richly fruited and decadent McLaren Vale monster.

Plus you'll be getting three bottles apiece of Curtis Small Batch, a 96 point and multiple gold winning, old vine, $100-a-bottle McLaren Vale marvel; Mitchell's perfectly cellared 2015 vintage 96 point Peppertree Shiraz; Angas King's magnificent 2021 Clare Shiraz and Yaldara's incredibly dense $250-a-bottle Barossa Valley behemoth.

Curiously, the word bulgogi is very close to bulging in the dictionary, bulgogi being that wonderful beef dish, marinated in sugar, spring onion, black pepper and garlic. Nice to have something comforting close to hand, for when the need arises.

    Wines In This Pack
    McLaren Vale, SA
97pts Sam Kim, 95pts Ken Gargett

The Martins has maintained the exceptionally high standard it set with the 2018 vintage. Fruits are blacks and blues, with blueberries, blackberries, olive tapenade, dark chocolate, plentiful cedar and vanilla populating a powerful and long palate. The tannins are polished, waxy and plentiful. The best Martin's yet!

    Barossa Valley, SA
97pts Sam Kim, 95pts Kim Brebach

Made From: A-grade Barossa Shiraz and exceptional oak

Aromas and Flavours: Blue and black fruits, chocolate and tobacco leaf

Drink if you like: Saltram No 1

Have With: A rare to med rare scotch fillet, and duck fat rosemary spuds

Awards: TBA every previous vintage has scored 96 or above and we think this is the best release yet

Just the fourth release of Yaldara Grand, and arguably the best so far, with its incredible concentration of fruit and use of exceptional oak. A big wine and a complex expression of the Barossa. Milk and dark chocolate, aniseed, blue fruits, tobacco leaf, plus plenty of cedary oak and tannin. Incredible.

    McLaren Vale, SA
96pts Sam Kim, 96pts Melbourne International Wine Competition, 95pts Kim Brebach, 94pts Ken Gargett, 3 Golds
A black, plush, and full-bodied Shiraz made from 80-year-old vines. Exceptional fruit intensity here, and weight of black fruits on the palate. Opulence is balanced by judicious acidity and there’re plenty of tannins driving through to an epic conclusion. Decant if you are going to enjoy now, otherwise cellar!
    Clare Valley, SA
94pts Ken Gargett, 94pts Sam Kim
Rich, black, dark, deep, black curranty, powerful and well oaked. Blackcurrant, black olives, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, velvety goodness here. A superb follow-up to the excellent 2017 vintage.
    Clare Valley, SA
96pts Kim Brebach, 95pts Wine Pilot, 94pts Sam Kim
A riper, darker and more supple expression of Peppertree Shiraz which retains the hallmark spice and subtlety. It was aged in old oak and released at 5 years of age – ready to drink! This is balanced and fresh, offering dark fruits, cherries, violets, dark chocolate, savoury notes and white pepper. Drink any time over the next 10+ years.
