The Revelatory Baker's Fundraising Dozen (incl. $50 Donation)

Leading the way is Kilikanoon’s $550-a-bottle Revelation Shiraz. We’re comfortable that this is better than the 2018 Grange. There’s also Stonehouse’s Neldner Shiraz, a Grange-alike rated 97 points by Sam Kim, and Yaldara's $250 a bottle, 96 point Grand Shiraz. The list goes on. Rest assured we love each and every wine in this very special pack.

Just a few barrels were made of this incredible Shiraz made from the best parcels of fruit grown by Kilikanoon in 2016. Complex and refined, this wine offers blackberries, cherry, milk and dark chocolate, incredible quality French oak, effusive acidity and perfectly modulated tannins. It has massive fruit intensity AND will cellar for 20 years plus.

Sorry, this product is not available individually, only in packs.

The 2021 Yaldara Grand is a straight Shiraz, owing to the concentration and profundity of the Shiraz fruit from this vintage. Unsurprisingly, this offers more power and concentration than any previous vintage. A massive, deep and complex expression of the best bits of the Barossa Valley. Dark chocolate, liquorice, tobacco leaf, blue and black fruits, cedar, cassis, plums, cherries, spice and plenty of cedary oak and tannins. Incredible.

The Martins has maintained the exceptionally high standard it set with the 2018 vintage. Fruits are blacks and blues, with blueberries, blackberries, olive tapenade, cedar and vanilla populating a powerful and long palate. The tannins are polished, waxy and plentiful. The overall package, outstanding!!

An explosive Barossa Shiraz from low yielding, old vineyards in Marananga and Stonewell, planted to the R6 and 1654 clones. There’s old vine fruit from Greenock, the vines so old that the clonal selection is unknown. Matured in a combination of new French and older American oak, this is a stunning Barossa Shiraz offering dense black fruits, blue fruits, blackberries, coffee, graphite, chocolate, minerals, liquorice, spice, blueberries, cedar and firm tannins. Stunning.

The 2018 vintage was one of our finds of the year, being old school, gnarly and dense but with exceptional length. No surprise it took on Grange in a blind tasting and scored more points for wine of the night. The 2019 is an able successor, belting out the same tune from the same hymn book (by that we obviously mean 'Hallelujah' by Lenny Cohen, with Jeff Buckley providing backup vocals). It's dark, graphite-y and dense but with bright notes reflecting the author's lofty aspirations. It needs decanting - as Lenny once wrote, 'Decant everything, that's how the air gets in.' Worth getting in touch with us for mate's rates on this one.

Powerful, cedary and black-fruited. A few years ago this was probably monstrous. Pleasingly, it's settling into itself, and a bit of a decant sees it drinking beautifully. Exceptional concentration of dark fruits here, along with chocolate and spice. Handpicked and basket pressed.

Better again than the incredible '21 vintage of the Neldner which was compared by one wine writer to Penfolds Grange. Handpicked grapes from an 80 year old contoured vineyard in Gomersal. Long slow fermentation including more than 10% whole bunch fruit before basket pressing into 30% new oak inc. both French and American. A stunningly perfumed nose leads to a palate with exceptional structure and richness. Red fruits, black fruits, coffee, cherries, red plum, dark chocolate, spice and fine, powdery tannins to finish. A pinnacle Barossa Shiraz experience.
