Yep, for the first time ever, we’ve managed to squeeze 6 trophies into the official Royal Adelaide Wine Show Red Dozen. The quality of each wine is utterly exceptional. Every wine in this dozen was not just a gold medal winner, but the equal best pointed wine in their class in initial judging. As you’d expect, quite a few have done well elsewhere too. The Majella Cab is Winestate’s Cabernet of the year and has won 4 trophies to date. The Redbrook Shiraz has picked up 9 gold medals elsewhere. We suspect stock of this pack will sell fast. Gold, Top Gold and Trophy for best Grenache in Show Royal Adelaide Wine Show
Winner of Gold and Top Gold at the Adelaide Show and subsequently awarded the Trophy for best Grenache in show. An exceptional, medium bodied, old vine offering matured for 15 month in old oak, offering wonderful aromatics. Soft fruit is made mouthwatering thanks to excellent acidity.
Gold, Top Gold, and Trophy for Best Shiraz 2021 Vintage and Younger Royal Adelaide Wine Show
A modern style of shiraz with ripe fruit and well apportioned. high quality oak given just enough opportunity to make its point without dominating the argument. The fruit here is old vine blues and blacks, with suggestions of herbs, liquorice and cedar. It is finished with beautifully fine tannins. Stunning.

The best fruit from the Estate vineyard was handpicked and fermented as 90% whole bunches then treated to 9 months in older, large format French oak. It’s complex, offering mulberries, liquorice, olive, cassis, white pepper and plums before finishing with curlicues of cedary oak and a wave of fine tannins. A spectacular Shiraz.

A brilliant, medium bodied, single vineyard temp with minimal oak influence. A wonderful red fruit and chocolate palate, complexity coming from the mix of red cherries, chocolate, supportive acidity and fine fruit tannins.

Coonawarra producer Majella is one of the most awarded wineries in the land. The family have been in the region for 5 generations, first planting vines in 1968. Today they have 144 acres of stunning vineyard and a trophy cabinet which is as chokkers as Jabba the Hut’s dressing gown. Their Composer 21 Cabernet has picked up a gold medal at the Royal Adelaide Wine show, 5 other golds, a top gold and 4 trophies, including the Winestate Magazine Trophy for best Cabernet of the year!!! This is medium bodied with bright red and blue fruits and cassis. There’s subtle French oak cedar and plenty of fine but assertive tannins on the finish.
