Wines In This Pack
McLaren Vale, SA
Gold Medal, 97pts Sam Kim, 94pts James Halliday, 95pts The Real Review, 95pts Bob Campbell
This is unequivocally an even better edition of the Martin’s than we have seen previously, which is perhaps no surprise given it is a product of the 2018 vintage. Again, we see relatively low alcohol for a big Aussie red which, perhaps counterintuitively, allows the wine to appear as more fruit dense and concentrated than it might if it were half a degree or a full degree more ‘potent’. Fruits are blacks and blues, depth and length are superb, cedar and vanilla are a perfumed accompaniment to the fruit rich nose, and the tannins, polished, waxy and plentiful. The overall package, outstanding!
Hunter Valley, NSW
93pts Kim Brebach
Lanolin and citrus meet lemon curd here. The texture is more generous than is typical with young Sem, making this an absolute winner right now. That said, if you like your Sem with age this will improve for at least 10, maybe 20 years. James Halliday rates First Creek Wines as a 5 red star producer and offers the following… ‘The quality of the wines has been consistently exemplary, and there is every reason to believe this will continue in the years to come.
McLaren Vale, SA
96pts Sam Kim, 93pts Wine Advocate
A groundbreaking Aussie Cabernet in as much as it is made in the Amarone style, with grapes air dried for up to 8 weeks prior to fermentation. It is both concentrated and ethereal with florals and black tea on the nose – the palate awash with chocolate, coffee, cassis, blueberries, herbs, licorice and minerality. Double or triple decant a few hours before drinking.
McLaren Vale, SA
96pts Sam Kim
A black, plush, and full-bodied Shiraz made from 80-year-old vines. Exceptional fruit intensity here, and weight of black fruits on the palate. Opulence is balanced by judicious acidity and there’re plenty of tannins driving through to an epic conclusion. Decant if you are going to enjoy now, otherwise cellar!
Adelaide Hills, SA
5 x Gold Medals, 96pts Sam Kim, 95pts Winestate Magazine
Perched on top of the Manser vineyard is a small, productive four acres of Shiraz planted on rich, red soil enjoying full sun during the growing season. These vines produce rich, ripe, black fruit with intense flavor forming the majority of their reserve wine. This release is both powerful and refined, with black fruits resolving into cedar, vanilla and fine tannins. The finish is rich and long. Decant for an hour or two or cellar for up to 10-15 years.
Adelaide Hills, SA
97pts, Gold Medal and Top Gold Medal - 2021 Royal Adelaide Wine Show, The Arkaba Cellars Trophy for Best Sauvignon Blanc in Show
A complex and textural Sauv Blanc. Aromas of snow pea tendrils, cut grass, celery salt, lemon and passionfruit in this textural SB which is packed with flavour and offers great length and persistence. A spectacular example of Adelaide Hills Sauv Blanc.
Clare Valley, SA
5x Trophies, 2 x Top Gold Medal, 2 x Gold Medal, 95pts Huon Hooke
Opens with a classic nose of lime, lemon and talcum powder. The acidity is high but well countered by a generous mouthfeel. The palate is awash with lemons and limes, length and persistence are both excellent. Tasty already and with at least a decade of improvement ahead of it.

Adelaide Hills, SA
93pts Sam Kim, 90pts Kim Brebach
On the bigger side for Pinot Noir, offering red and blue fruits, spice, and cedar. Looks good on opening but definitely benefits from decanting. The inclusion of 10% whole bunches in the ferment has provided some crunch to the structure. Our suggestion, decant about an hour before drinking and enjoy with something duck flavoured.
Please note, we’ve used the claimable benefit of the donation to increase the quality of the wines in the pack so unfortunately, no portion of the purchase is claimable by the purchaser.
