Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

One of the best things about sampling new wines is having more than one when you get to the bottom of the first bottle... in this Shiraz dozen you’ve got three of each. Phew. From the Barossa Valley, Monterra have attracted plenty of attention with their impressive haul of awards. Bright black and blue fruits live here, with some lovely richness on the palate and spice to follow. Also from the Barossa comes Zonte’s Baron von Nemesis. It might be someone’s nemesis, but definitely not ours – this wine shows concentrated blackberry fruit from old vines along with chewy tannins and chocolate notes, Zonte style. McLaren Vale brings Oliver’s Taranga made by star winemaker Corrina Wright. Oliver’s Taranga are true to style and true to terroir, with this drop showing full bodied dark fruits, chocolate, mint and an elegant acid profile; there’s no wonder this has scored 96 points from JH. Another from the Vale comes Curtis Heritage Shiraz. This is a serious drop for Shiraz diehards - whether it’s to pair with a steak or lamb dish, this wine delivers. You’ll find lots of black plum notes, with spice and great length. An excellent choice for those true Shiraz appreciators Shirazpiring to greatness… or anyone who loves a quality SA red.
