Seriously slurpable Shiraz (and a cheeky SGM) here from the McLaren Vale, Barossa and Langhorne Creek. Curtis' stellar Cavalier and Limited Series Shiraz, plus Chalk Hill's "punches-well-above-its-weight" Shiraz with a freshly anointed 95pts from James Halliday represent the McLaren Vale, all showing exceptional fruit and spice. Zonte’s triple Gold winning fruit driven Langhorne Creek Shiraz is in its perfect drinking window now and continues to impress whenever we rip the top off for a tasting. The Barossa offerings are a beautifully cellared number from the Hartley Family and Murray Street's powerful SGM.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

The 2009 Hartley Family’s ‘The Roving’ Shiraz is drinking beautifully right now - bold black ripe fruit and chewy tannins are softened by French oak in this Barossa Shiraz. Murray Street Vineyard’s 2010 Shiraz Grenache Mataro is über generous with vibrancy - plum, cherries, chocolate and spices maintain excitement in this velvety drop. Zonte’s deliver another triple–Gold-stealing wonder in their 2013 Lake Doctor Shiraz which is loaded with chocolate, blackberries and dark plum, doused with fragrant aniseed - deliciously complex! Our long standing friends at Curtis Family Vineyards never disappoint with their well-received Cavaliere and Limited Series Shiraz - both top quality and full bodied with good cellaring potential. Finally, we’ve got a James Halliday 95 pointer from Chalk Hill - it's extremely alluring... opens up wonderfully over 2-3 hours, blooming with perfume; like a Labrador after doggy school, worldly and with unparalleled ability to entertain… Brilliant. All that for just $189? Inconceivable!
