13 Bottles for 13 Bucks Apiece v5.0

Previous editions of '13 Bottles for 13 Bucks Apiece' have performed brilliantly, selling heaps, with a really high percentage of repeat orders. Fair call too, as they contained genuinely excellent wines at quaffing prices. It's taken us a while, but we reckon we've upped the ante here, increasing the quality while retaining the original price point. This time you'll get three each of a delightful McLaren Cab blend, the magnificent $75-a-bottle Angas King Reserve Shiraz, Red Deer's 95-point old vine Shiraz, and a lovely organic Shiraz. The 13th bottle? Curtis' old vine, 96-point, $100-a-bottle Small Batch Shiraz. Phwoar!

    Wines In This Pack
    McLaren Vale, SA
96pts Sam Kim, 96pts Melbourne International Wine Competition, 95pts Kim Brebach, 94pts Ken Gargett, 2 Golds
A black, plush, and full-bodied Shiraz made from 80-year-old vines. Exceptional fruit intensity here, and weight of black fruits on the palate. Opulence is balanced by judicious acidity and there’re plenty of tannins driving through to an epic conclusion. Decant if you are going to enjoy now, otherwise cellar!
    Clare Valley, SA
94pts Wine Pilot, 95pts Sam Kim
Rich, black, dark, deep, powerfully fruited and structured with a decent lick of oak. Old school but drinking beautifully thanks to its age. Blackcurrant, black olives, bay leaf, dark chocolate, zesty acidity and cedary oak make this a powerful pleasure right now. Will continue to improve tho, for at least a decade.
    Langhorne Creek, SA
95pts Kim Brebach, 93pts Sam Kim
An exceptional, brightly, and intensely fruited medium-bodied Shiraz sourced from 50-year-old Langhorne Creek vines. Bold red and black fruits are bolstered by good acidity. The wine is finished with vanilla, spindles of oak, and fine tannins.
    South Australia
Black fruits, soft, silken and syrupy, this is a very easy drinking Shiraz which nonetheless has quality fruit and is a cut above the average quaffer. Seems to disappear fairly quickly after the lid gets ripped off.
    Limestone Coast, SA
A beautiful and fragrant mid-weight Limestone Coast blend of Shiraz and Cabernet. Cape Jaffa have a knack for making wines that are gloriously drinkable on release and improve, maybe not for 20 years, but for 5+ minimum. This offers, spice, florals and red fruit in abundance, which then leads to darker fruits, a litle cedar and a fine tannin finish. We love it.
