Rusden Good Shepherd Malbec Cabernet 2014

A complex nose here with spice, liquorice and dark chocolate sliding into caramel. Herbal Cabernet is overcome by juicy Malbec, as bright blue fruits swallow up assertively angular greenery. Character, complexity, structure and beauty in a bottle.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Rusden do it all from growing the grapes, making the wines and selling them. They see themselves very much as custodians of the land they tend and seek to minimize their ‘footprint’ while doing so, acting as it were as ‘Good Shepherds’. 36 years ago they purchased 40 acres of run down vineyard in Vine Vale and nursed it back to rude good health, preserving old Shiraz and Grenache vines from the vine pull scheme in the 80’s. They first produced a wine in 1992 with commercial production beginning in 1997. They make bloody good booze.
