Matt and Daz have a quick look at the Richard Hamilton Little Road Shiraz 2019...
The Hamilton family have a rich winemaking heritage dating back to 1837. In addition to owning Richard Hamilton Wines, they also founded and own Leconfield wines in the Coonawarra. The first Richard Hamilton was originally a businessman in the UK with a penchant for smuggling Bordeaux into the UK. In 1837 he fled for Australia with customs hot on his heels and by 1841 produced South Australia’s first commercial wine. Generations of expansion and commercial success followed, and the brand kept moving south from Adelaide, eventually settling in the McLaren Vale. These days, drawing on a heap of high quality vineyards (many of which are old vine) Richard Hamilton produces a range of wines which are both superb in quality and excellent value for money.

A good burger doesn’t simply just require beer – especially one of this caliber!! For me, I am ALL about a good shiraz with my burger. Something bold, beautiful, and powerful (but not to the point where I can only drink 1/2 the bottle).

A bromance was formed around their love of food and wine, between Dan and Gavin from Another Food Blogger. Since finding their new connection they have been collaborating to create the perfect wine pairings. Last week Dan tested out the Beef Cheek Ragu, let’s see how he went.

Shiraz (which is essentially Syrah) is a dark-skinned grape grown throughout the world and used primarily to produce powerful red wines.
Wines made from Syrah are often powerfully flavoured and full-bodied. The variety produces wines with a wide range of flavor notes, depending on the climate and soils where it is grown, as well

Less than 40km south of Adelaide, McLaren Vale is another one of South Australia's renowned Shiraz producers, accounting for roughly 50% of grapes crushed annually. The climate is markedly different from the Barossa, being much more Mediterranean with four clear seasons and higher rainfalls. McLaren Vale reds reflect this, showing deep
