Referred to by Master Sommelier Madeline Triffon as “sex in a glass”, Pinot Noir is notoriously difficult to grow, but when producers get it right, they get it oh-so right. Pronounced pee-no nwah, this red wine grape gets its name from the French words for "pine" and "black", alluding to the varietal’s tightly clustered dark purple pinecone-shaped bunches of fruit.
