The 2024 is now 100% made from Grenache selectively picked from Block 32. Gently airbag pressed and fermented with the juice being allowed to settle prior to a long, cool ferment to help maintain all the lovely notes from vintage 2024. Following fermentation, the wine was left on lees for the right balance, structure and mouthfeel. This is the seventh release of their flagship ‘Hills shiraz and as usual you’re hit immediately with a waft of black and blue fruits and the trademark white pepper that announces this wine as a “hills monster". The palate is full bodied and it’s here you see even more layers of complexity and intrigue, no doubt due to the co-fermentation of 5 different clones scattered throughout this unique vineyard. This will offers years of cellaring but to enjoy now, bust out the decanter for an hour to release all of this lovely flavour.

Bleasdale has been growing Cab Franc for over a quarter of a century, but this is the first time it's been released as a standalone wine, and it is lovely. Bleasdale's Wellington Road GSM blend has only been in existence for a handful of years, but it draws on quality older vines from the estate as well as key growers. Offering vivid aromatics, it builds around a core of noticeable acidity and fine but plentiful tannins - a skeleton that promises longevity. There's a power and density here not normally found at $30 a bottle. Fruit was treated gently, being basket pressed into a mix of older French and American oak.
