Platinum Wine Club Whites
Four stunning Whites this month. First up gold and trophy winning Margaret River Sem Sauv Blanc from Deep Woods which brings zippy and crunchy with uplifting aromas of lemon and blossom. These are complimented on the palate with passionfruit, citrus and a lip-smacking backbone of acidity. Yalumba’s Eden Valley Viognier is creamy, stonefruity textural and mouthwatering. Thorn Clarke’s 93 point Eden PG has excellent depth of flavour with pear and spice melding beautifully. Aromas are predominantly of pear flesh and juice, with a little citrus and spice along for the ride. The last and creamiest selection is the Leconfield Coonawarra Chardonnay. Lots of peach and almond meal here. Quality French oak too and plenty of the cheesy creamy quality which comes from lees stirring while the wine is in barrel. Good acid too. Has the zip and cut to match most foods now. As it ages it should become more textured and buttery.
