97pts Sam Kim, 96pts Ken Gargett, 96pts Kim Brebach, 96pts Winestate Magazine, Gold - CWSA
The Martins has maintained the exceptionally high standard it set with the 2018 vintage. Fruits are blacks and blues, with blueberries, blackberries, olive tapenade, cedar and vanilla populating a powerful and long palate. The tannins are polished, waxy and plentiful. The overall package, outstanding!!
Clare Valley, SA
95pts Kim Brebach, 95pts Sam Kim
Whilst 2020 was a challenging growing season and yields were very low, fruit quality and concentration were excellent, even exemplary. There is concentrated black and blue fruit here, along with cedar and spice. The acid is fantastic, playing the perfect underscore to the fruit and giving this wine excellent lift and length. Tannins are fine and firm. Superb to drink now and for the next decade.
Barossa Valley, SA
94pts Sam Kim
We loved the 2019 – it was the #1 wine out of 40 on our tasting panel. This is better- with greater intensity of fruit while still retaining the polish and balance of the previous vintage. There are blue and black fruits, spice, cedar and plenty of fine tannins. An exceptional Barossa Valley Shiraz.
Barossa Valley, SA
93pts Sam Kim
A powerful Barossa Cab which announces itself with varietally appropriate aromatic lift in the form of violets and greenery. The palate is concentrated, replete with blackcurrant and blackberries along with macerating cherries and spice. Plenty of cedar and plenty of fine to medium weight tannins to finish. Begging for a rare to medium T-Bone.
Clare Valley, SA

Always a standout from the Kilikanoon stable, with pretty much every vintage rated at somewhere between 95 and 97 points. The 2020 is the most concentrated yet- perhaps owing to the vintage being significantly smaller than normal. Bucketloads of black fruit, violets, blackcurrant pastilles, black tea, acidity and a truckload of fine tannins here. Get it in a decanter and serve with a rare T-Bone. Should improve for 15 years, maybe more if cellared correctly.

The Lienert’s have been farming in the Barossa for 150 years and decided to add some vines to their property about 20 years ago. The first fruit from 2004 and 2005 vintages went straight to the pool room, aka into Penfold’s St Henri. Funnily enough they then planted a lot more vines and introduced many more clonal variations of Shiraz and Grenache. This Grenache is a brilliant amalgam of aromatics and pristine fruit, thanks to the careful clonal selection and extensive blending trials undertaken before settling on the final ‘just right blend’. Whilst called Sieben Klon (Seven Clones) the Grenache actually includes 8 separate clones. This vintage is a little lighter, yet more aromatically lifted than the 21 vintage. It’s a cracker.
Please note, we’ve used the claimable benefit of the donation to increase the quality of the wines in the pack so unfortunately, no portion of the purchase is claimable by the purchaser.
