Pizza Wines with Pizzazz

Big Reds & Pizza? Not Always a Match…

But that doesn’t mean you have to drink plonk either.

We’ve rounded up mid-weight reds that punch well above their weight in aromatics and flavour — wines that play nicely with a slice (or three). Think:

Old vine Barossa Grenache

Adelaide Hills Nero d’Avola

Turkey Flat GSM — a stunner

And more

The kind of bottles that cuddle up to a Margherita or that prosciutto/rocket/buffalo mozz combo like they were made for it.

Plus, in place of slinging you a garlic bread, we'll send...

A bottle of Dandelion’s flagship Grenache —

$120 RRP, from the heart of McLaren Vale.

Smart, delicious, pizza-friendly reds — and one absolute baller bottle for good measure.

    Wines In This Pack
    McLaren Vale, SA
    3 x Gold Medals, 96pts Wine Pilot
A deep and intense wine packed with red fruits, spice and cedar, with exceptional length and depth of fruit. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, and sourced entirely from Dandelion's own Firehawk Farm vineyard, which is one of the very best in McLaren Vale. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years.
    Adelaide Hills, SA
Trophy - Young Gun of Wine, 93pts Sam Kim
Adelaide Hills Nero with the addition of 4% Pinot Noir. A beautifully complete, smooth, juicy and fragrant red. Cherry, pepper, liquorice, tobacco, raspberry and more floating around here with enough acid and just enough tannin to make it perfect. Utterly, utterly delicious.
    Barossa Valley, SA
    95pts Sam Kim
Serious, old vines Grenache this, with a degree of intensity you don’t always find in Grenache. As per every vintage released so far, the '23 is bolstered by the inclusion of some powerful, low yielding old vine Shiraz. A red and black fruit perfume abounds. Tannins are plentiful and savoury, the fruits black, flecked with reds and tightly coiled. Best enjoyed after decanting.
    Barossa Valley, SA
94pts Kim Brebach, 93pts Mike Bennie, 92pts James Halliday
A delightful, Italian inspired, medium bodied, three way blend of Montepulciano, Negroamaro and Aglianico. Lots of glossy fruits here, with cherries and plum complexed with dried herbs, florals, a hint of amaro and a lick of cedar. The perfect quaffer? Yep. Complex and intriguing, yet easy going? Yep. Bloody delicious? Yep.
    Barossa Valley, SA
    92pts Sam Kim
A beautifully soft, savoury and complex red. A medium-bodied palate with red and black fruits. Layers of spice, dark plum and blackberries with plenty of fine tannins and a slightly rustic edge from the very high quality Mataro used here to finish the blend off. A lovely ‘welcome home’ glass which goes very nicely with dinner too.
