Grenache & Co. from the Barossa, Clare & McLaren Vale
This isn’t the biggest discount we’ve ever offered on a Grenache and blends thereof dozen…
…but it just might be the best collection we’ve put together.
Why?
Because every wine in this pack seriously delivers.
You’ll get:
• 4 bottles of Kilikanoon Meyman’s GSM — a superb release that Kim Brebach described as the best GSM he’d seen in a year. Plush, spicy, layered and beautifully balanced.
• 4 bottles of Murray Street Vineyards Red Label GSM — a wine we genuinely think is criminally undervalued at its $40 RRP. Classic Barossa generosity with plenty of savoury spice and dark fruit depth.
• 4 bottles of Turkey Flat Butcher’s Block GSM — one of the most reliable and satisfying GSM blends in the country. Fragrant, juicy, savoury and dangerously easy to drink.
And to seal the deal, we’ve added a bonus bottle of Heirloom Alcala Grenache — consistently one of the finest expressions of McLaren Vale Grenache produced year after year. Elegant, detailed and seriously impressive.
Altogether, this is a beautifully balanced Grenache-focused Baker’s Dozen featuring some of South Australia’s most respected producers and a stack of drinking pleasure from top to bottom.
Pretty compelling, we reckon.

Another spellbinding Alcala Grenache; estate grown and entirely sourced from the Firehawk Farm vineyard. Ripe plush fruits of dark cherries and strawberry. Plenty of punchy, exaggerated aromatics from the high % of whole bunch in the ferment and a significant whack of new French oak. Brimming with life, bold, yet nuanced of fruit and just gorgeous.
Low yield, high quality Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz are all employed here in a very successful homage to the great Grenache dominant blends of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Thie is medium bodied, spiced and savoury with plenty of red and blue fruits and, as Halliday's Wine companion suggests, it is a study in fruit 'detail with an airy grace'. It is gorgeous. In spite of its age, this benefits from decanting and will continue to improve with cellaring.
Kilikanoon grow or buy a vast quantity of Clare Grenache - no surprise then that they produce some of the finest Grenache in the Valley. They also arguably produce the region's best Shiraz, 'hello Kilikanoon Revelation and Attunga'. Their GSMs also fare well - the current $40 a bottle Baudinet having picked up multiple trophies. So, we're very excited to introduce the first ever Kilikanoon Meymans GSM, a mid-weight, complex and textural beast which offers comforting blue and black fruit, spice and whisper fine tannins. We love it.
A beautifully soft, savoury and complex red. A medium-bodied palate with red and black fruits. Layers of spice, dark plum and blackberries with plenty of fine tannins and a slightly rustic edge from the very high quality Mataro used here to finish the blend off. A lovely ‘welcome home’ glass which goes very nicely with dinner too.
