  4. A Brilliant Alt Red Dozen
    12 pack - $16.58/bottle
    57% Off RRP
    A Brilliant Alt Red Dozen
    Regular Price $468.00 $199.00

A fabulous selection of alt reds with plenty of new stuff. The trophy winning Clare Grenache from Kilikanoon and the superb 95 point Durif from Curtis have been in our stable for a while. The new stuff? Magical old vine Grenache from Songlines and a superb old vine Mataro Grenache blend, both from the Barossa, both made by Tom White of Lone Palm fame! They are both superb. Also a couple of new to us Barossa beauties from White Gate. White Gate are low-fi, or perhaps more accurately, light touch. They work primarily with organic and biodynamic producers, pick early and make minimal additions to the wine during ferment and prior to bottling. They figure that starting with A-grade fruit and picking a bit earlier than the norm allows them to bypass a lot of the corrective work that has to be otherwise undertaken to ensure wine stability and longevity. As a bonus, this allows the fruit to really shine. The proof is in the pudding and we can heartily attest that the pud is good!

  5. A Curation of Chardonnay
    13 pack - $20.38/bottle
    54% Off RRP
    A Curation of Chardonnay
    Regular Price $582.00 $265.00

A Chardonnay baker's dozen here, probably the first one we've ever put together! Quality kit too, with a $75 RRP Adelaide Hills Chardy from Solaris, a gold medal winner from Curtis, creamy goodness from Smalltown and a lovely Coonawarra Chardy from Katnook. So far, $462 worth for $265.

The kicker? a 13th bottle from Jean Loron... taking the total value to $582. This is an excellent white Burgundy offering layers of flavour and complexity. JL have been cranking out wine since 1711 and this premium bottling offers stone fruits, creaminess, minerality and that special creamy-meets-cheesy continuum you get when high quality fruit spends time on yeast solids in barrel. Yum!

    12 pack - $24.58/bottle
    65% Off RRP
    A Very Special Grenache Dozen
    Regular Price $850.00 $295.00

We love Grenache here at WD, probably because in Aus, particularly SA where we live, we do Grenache as well as, maybe even better than, anywhere else in the world. In this doz you'll be getting Heirloom's 24 Alcala, perhaps the best Grenache, from the best place on earth to grow it, McLaren Vale. Dandelion's flagship, 3 gold winning and 96-point Faraway Tree Grenache. Curtis' 96-point, old vine $80 a bottle stunner. Lone Palm's 95-point old vine beauty which is spicy and rich with gravelly tannins. The Treasure Trove is a multi-award winning stunner, again from Dandelion, and Purple Hands' GSM which seems to pick up a gold at every show it is entered into... 4 so far.

If you love Grenache, even if you just like it, this pack is very worthy of your consideration.

Drink now and for 10 to 20 years.’ You’ll also get 4 bottles of Martin’s 97 point $150 a bottle McLaren Vale Shiraz, and 4 of Karl Scepter’s 93-point, succulent and chocolatey Barossa Cab. Some pretty flash booze here. The Angas King is a 94 point and perfectly velvety, deeply fruited beauty from the Clare. The Curtis just keeps picking up awards (most recently, 2 gold medals) and is a $100 a bottle, old vine McLaren Vale belter. The Architect, from Dowie Doole, offers superb intensity of fruit and is decent value at $90 a bottle. There are 4 bottles of each of the aforementioned coming your way. To seal the deal, a bottle of Yaldara's Grand Cuvée Shiraz, from the unicorn '21 vintage, this is a $250 retail stunner - a cracking example of just how good Barossa Shiraz can be. Learn More

This pack is our homage to the genius 2021 vintage, a 'unicorn' vintage, which gave good volume coupled with a really high proportion of A-grade fruit. There's a trophy-winning Clare Grenache from the legends at Kilikanoon; a 96-point and twin gold McLaren Shiraz; Curator Wine Co's achingly intense and pure Greenock Shiraz, laden with black fruits, cedar and graphite; Yaldara's $200-a-bottle behemoth and Dowie Doole's two exceptional flagship reds.
