We love Grenache here at WD, probably because in Aus, particularly SA where we live, we do Grenache as well as, maybe even better than, anywhere else in the world. In this doz you'll be getting Heirloom's '24 Alcala, perhaps the best Grenache, from the best place on earth to grow it, McLaren Vale. Dandelion's flagship Faraway Tree Grenache. Lone Palm's old vine beauty which is spicy and rich with gravelly tannins. The Treasure Trove is a multi-award winning stunner, again from Dandelion. Rounding this out, Turkey Flat's magical GSM and Curtis' mid weight and fragrant beauty.
If you love Grenache, even if you just like it, this pack is very worthy of your consideration.
A deep and intense wine packed with red fruits, spice and cedar, with exceptional length and depth of fruit. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, and sourced entirely from Dandelion's own Firehawk Farm vineyard, which is one of the very best in McLaren Vale. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years.

Another spellbinding Alcala Grenache; estate grown and entirely sourced from the Firehawk Farm vineyard. Ripe plush fruits of dark cherries and strawberry. Plenty of punchy, exaggerated aromatics from the high % of whole bunch in the ferment and a significant whack of new French oak. Brimming with life, bold, yet nuanced of fruit and just gorgeous.
Serious, old vines Grenache this, with a degree of intensity you don’t always find in Grenache. As per every vintage released so far, the '23 is bolstered by the inclusion of some powerful, low yielding old vine Shiraz. A red and black fruit perfume abounds. Tannins are plentiful and savoury, the fruits black, flecked with reds and tightly coiled. Best enjoyed after decanting.
A beautifully soft, savoury and complex red. A medium-bodied palate with red and black fruits. Layers of spice, dark plum and blackberries with plenty of fine tannins and a slightly rustic edge from the very high quality Mataro used here to finish the blend off. A lovely ‘welcome home’ glass which goes very nicely with dinner too.

A wonderful Grenache with a little age. New school bright fruit and exceptionally deftly placed tannins meet high-quality, old-school oak. Ned Goodwin from the Halliday Wine Companion wrote a year ago ‘too much mocha-vanilla-infused oak enshrouding this, the fruit and structural latticework beyond it is sublime, auguring well for future change... Raspberry bon-bon, thyme, orange zest and lavender. The acidity, juicy and palpably natural. The grape tannins, lithe and etched with grace... I score this with the promise to which I hold it.’ A year later and this wine’s time has arrived, it is a ripper!

A beautifully fragrant Grenache packed to the gunnels with bright and delicious red fruits, spice and lip tingling acidity. Awesome with a range of savoury dishes, especially crispy pork.
