Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Grenache is seeing a huge surge in popularity at the moment with the Australian palate starting to deviate more towards food-friendly, lighter, savoury styles - so we thought we’d better chuck a couple of stunners in this pack in Curtis’ 95 point beauty and Spinifex’s glorious Garcon, both with lush fruit purity, acid and chewy depth. Hither & Yon from McLaren Vale let us in on their version of Tannat, a red grape from France widely championed in Uruguay where it’s consumed like Shiraz is here. Expect medium bodied rustic tannins, coffee spice, dark chocolate and dark fruits... yum. Chain of Ponds' Dolcetto Shiraz hit our tasting table recently and instantly got a unanimous thumbs up. It’s soft and smooth with plush fruits and goes down very easily, but absolutely delicious the following day with its glossy red berries and spice. Geoff Hardy’s K1 Pinot Noir has been a favourite of ours for a while and this vintage has scored 94 points from Wine Showcase mag. It’s definitely Adelaide Hills, with plenty of dark fruits nestled in crunchy green forest floor, like eating a Kuitpo Forest Cake... Zonte’s Malbec? Well 5 Gold Medals and 94 Halliday points can’t lie. It’s plump blue fruits, perfume and smoked meat aroma really hit home superbly.
