No One Will Order This v19.0

Price as configured: $120.00

A triple score of Grenache accompanied by Lagrein, Negroamaro and the first Pinot Noir we’ve seen in this pack for yonkeys. These wines are great alternatives to the usual Shiraz and Cabs, showing plenty of vibrancy, texture and complexity whilst still being absolutely delicious. It says it all really, but No One Will Order This anyway...

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Masterchef might be done for another year, but these six wines present great cause to explore a few different recipes to match them with. Spanish, Italian, French will all go down nicely. Compare three Grenache this time around and let us know what you think... Magpie Estate’s ‘Fakir’ is a stunning Barossan from 2012. An array of red fruits on the palate with subtle French oak and spice. Lost Buoy’s Forgotten Ida Grenache has become a staff favourite of late, with tart cherries, red berry sweetness and fragrance in a medium bodied setting. Curtis Limited is drinking nicely too, with fruit sourced from old vines. Blue fruit confection and spice with good acidity, letting it cellar happily. Lagrein, which hails from South Tyrol in Italy is being made really well in SA by Geoff Hardy. It’s dark and brooding with generous tannins, making a fillet steak a great choice. Hesketh’s Negroamaro is a great introduction to Italian varietals, showing herbal perfume, blue fruits, cola and spice. From Zonte’s, a cracking Pinot Noir which we’re really happy with. Sour cherry fruits amidst red berry sweetness, a hint of oak toast and savoury finish make this excellent drinking. You’d think you were in the Yarra Valley! Get into the best wine cult going around…
