Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

A perfect gathering of ‘must haves’ and ‘can drink tonight’ in this Tasting Panel pack, including a few new members of the winedirect.com.au family. Curtis Limited Grenache is still drinking excellently with its crunchy fruit and punchy tannins, perfect with pizza or tapas. Irvine’s Eden Valley Shiraz has 3 gold medals and a trophy for its cool climate glory. Peel the lid off this one once the sun has gone down over the water and enjoy the deep purple fruits. Tomich show their McLaren Vale flair with their 96 point Shiraz – dark chocolate, purple velvet floating over popping berry fruit. Rolf Binder’s Heysen Shiraz is classic Barossa Valley with generous oak and full bodied spiced fruit. A new addition, the Debutante 2014 Shiraz is medium bodied, food friendly and spicy. A nice mix of red and black fruits and cherry, followed by a hint of aromatic leather, like a ripe ole’ Chesterfield. Excellent wine from the Limestone Coast of SA. Glenlofty’s Cabernet is a staple in our homes, so it might as well be in yours. Cool climate red and purple fruit, earning 5 gold medals. Both the Heirloom and Hamilton are exceptional, loaded as they are with baskets of quality fruit, fine oak treatment and hints of chocolate and spice. Conte di Campiano’s Primitivo is deliciously slurpy, with a whole lotta rich and ripe strawberry and raspberry. We hear the lines are quite long down at d’Arenberg these days, so enjoy their black and beautiful Laughing Magpie ahead of time. Claymore’s Dark Side of the Moon is this dozen’s only Clare Valley Shiraz, with deep hues of blue and red fruits from one of the best wine regions in the world. Finally another new family member in Sherrah, made by Alex Sherrah of Coriole fame. This wine is gloriously unfiltered, with glistening bright and sweet fruit, anise and black olive. Fleshy and textured with fine tannins to finish. Save yourself over 50% in this ripper dozen.
