Briar Ridge Block 6 Pinot Noir 2024

Special Price $60.00 Regular Price $65.00

This is high altitude, cool climate Pinot made in the Burgundian tradition. It is estate grown, hand harvested. whole bunch fermented and foot stomped, then spends 6 months in new French oak. It's superb already and will unleash layers of complexity as it ages. Our average score on the tasting panel was nudging 96, which is pretty unusual.

Made From: Clones 114, 115 and 777 grown at high altitude

Aromas and Flavours: Spice, mulberries, cherries, raspberries, plenty of zing

Drink if you like: Mornington or Yarra Pinot

Food: Duck and/or mushroom based dishes are perfect here

Despite this, Pinot wines are among the most popular in the world. Joel Fleischman of Vanity Fair describes Pinot noir as "the most romantic of wines, with so voluptuous a perfume, so sweet an edge, and so powerful a punch that, like falling in love, they make the blood run hot and the soul wax embarrassingly poetic."
