Massena 'The Eleventh Hour' Shiraz 2017

From 60-year-old vines in the Northwest Barossa. This is rich, thick and velvety, an excellent edition of the Eleventh Hour, as one might expect. Bright blackberry fruits, chocolate, licorice, plum, anise and fine tannins all whirling about here. Tastiest kaleidoscope ever.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

In a scene that today seems almost as bizarre as a male politician appointing himself Minister for Women, a patch of 60 year old Shiraz vines in the North-Western Greenock district of the Barossa was close to being bulldozed. With a lot of love for the Barossa’s old vines and perhaps a dash of foresight, mates Dan and Jaysen lobbied the grower to sell the fruit to them instead, and the “Eleventh Hour” Shiraz was born. It’s racked up plenty of accolades over the last decade or so. Massena also produce rippingly good wines from Viognier, Mataro, Saperavi, Tannat, Durif, Barbera and Primitivo.
