Leconfield La Sevillana Rosé 2020

Special Price $22.00 Regular Price $28.00
Another stunning Rosé from Leconfield. This is textural, dry and complex with red fruits, florals, and melon. Winemaker Paul Gordon works two very different ferments here… one aromatic ferment where juice was cold settled, racked with low solids and cold fermented using an aromatic yeast. The other portion was fermented with whole solids and natural yeast at a warmer temperature, then allowed to undergo malo-lactic fermentation to promote mouthfeel and length. The end result is stunning and complex.

Planted in the renowned terra rossa soil of the Coonawarra, Leconfield's Merlot vines benefit from a climate very similar to the Bordeaux region in France and have a history of producing gold medal and trophy winning wines.

If there is one combination to look for when browsing for a good medium-bodied red, Coonawarra, terra rosa and Cabernet Sauvignon is always a winner. The Coonawarra vineyard region is sparse, running along a thin 2km-wide ridge elevating it above surrounding swamp. That's it, and notice the big spread of nothing around it? The Coonawarra is a very special place. Laying on an old ridge of limestone, the fields have superb drainage, allowing the vines to flourish without the dampness at night that can ruin a good crop. Very similar in climate to the Bordeaux region
