McLaren Vale and Barossa Shiraz - how we love thee. Especially these four amazing wines! Martin's $150 a bottle Limited Shiraz is a deep lush pool of black fruit, cedar and spice thoroughly deserving of its 97 point score. Purple Hands Shiraz is the gold winning lovechild of Craig Stansborough... who is also Grant Burge's winemaker. Purple Hands he owns, grows and makes with mate Mark Slade... we love it for its intense and textural blend of complex and competing flavours, silky tannins, bold black and blue fruit, liquorice and spice knitted together with savoury oak and fine tannins. The Pindarie from the Barossa's Western Ridge is yet another incredibly delicious wine - the best Shiraz we have seen from them... showing spice, subtly smoked meats and blue fruits. In the mouth we find velvety cherry and blue-fruit goodness, cedary French oak, spice and fine tannins. Finally, Hesketh's 'Small Parcels' brings rich, bright fruits, chocolate, liquorice, plums, smoky oak and lots more besides...
