Hold the Line, Love Is Always Red Wine

Price as configured: $140.00

We surely don’t miss the rains down in Africa, or even Australia, but we do miss the feeling of a healthy stash of great reds, so we found a few for this $140 dozen. Grant Burge’s soft and easy Cabernet Shiraz, Glenlofty’s cool climate Pyrenees Cabernet (this 2011 vintage is great stuff!), Finniss River’s herbaceous, chocolate and fruited Shiraz, the familiar Curtis Cavaliere Shiraz, Zonte’s Peacock Fan Grenache and Geoff Hardy’s Meritage blend, they’ve got bling, they’ve got zing. So, fire up the toons and settle in.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

What did Toto know about wine anyway? Geoff Hardy’s Meritage is a blend of wines from the Cabernet family. Expect plum and spice on the nose and a palate full of cedar, cherry and other savoury notes. Finniss River have been on the rise and we love their Shiraz. It’s got plenty of dark red and purple fruits, with Aussie flora and dark chocolate. Glenlofty’s 2011 Cabernet is cool climate deliciousness, showing Pyrenees blue fruits and fine tannins – great with a charcoal piece of meat. Zonte’s Peacock Fan Grenache offers bright fruit, followed by length and balance over a bit of spice and herb. The GB51 Cab Shiraz from Grant Burge is a go-to quality quaffer of ours for a good fruit and oak balance and the Curtis Cavaliere Shiraz just keeps getting better... McLaren Vale fruit, oak and spice laced with fine tannins. Start your Christmas Day stockpile with this lot at over 60% off RRP.
