A rare beast this, a Shiraz doz at $150 with not a rough tumbler in sight! Just delicious Shiraz from Oliver’s Taranga, Farmer’s Leap, Red Deer and Karl’s Scepter. A robust wine with black fruits matching its black label and undoubtedly black heart. What! That’s a nice thing to say about a wine and we reckon this is what Jack Sparrow might drink when the rum runs out. There’s also fruit as blue as Jack’s turn’o’phrase when the rum ration evaporates, and plenty of cedary oak and fine tannins to boot. It’s very good and hearty indeed me hearties… This will pair nicely with piratey staples like dried beef and pickled veg.
