O Come All Ye Faithful, here's a dozen to Jingle all the Bells. We've got All You Want For Christmas right here!
It really will be the Most Wonderful Time of the Year thanks to Chateau Yaldara's epic 96pt Grand Cuvée Shiraz, Showblock's silky McLaren Vale Cabernet, Curtis Vineyards Small Batch Shiraz as well as stunning reds from Karl Scepter and Sieger Estate. Your family and friends will be Rocking Around the Christmas Tree all this festive season with this lot nestled in the wine rack.
The 2021 Yaldara Grand is a straight Shiraz, owing to the concentration and profundity of the Shiraz fruit from this vintage. Unsurprisingly, this offers more power and concentration than any previous vintage. A massive, deep and complex expression of the best bits of the Barossa Valley. Dark chocolate, liquorice, tobacco leaf, blue and black fruits, cedar, cassis, plums, cherries, spice and plenty of cedary oak and tannins. Incredible.
About as big as you can make a Cabernet and still have it taste like a Cab. Cassis, cigar box, cedar, black fruits, spice, cocoa powder and more on the go here. Definitely worth decanting, as this peels back the layers of tannin a little and pushes the fruit forwards. Pretty awesome!
96pts Sam Kim, 96pts Melbourne International Wine Competition, 95pts Kim Brebach, 94pts Ken Gargett, 2 Golds
A black, plush, and full-bodied Shiraz made from 80-year-old vines. Exceptional fruit intensity here, and weight of black fruits on the palate. Opulence is balanced by judicious acidity and there’re plenty of tannins driving through to an epic conclusion. Decant if you are going to enjoy now, otherwise cellar!
A powerhouse old vine Barossa Shiraz, which was given an 18 month sleep in A-grade French oak. Black fruits, chocolate, fig, cherries and vanilla all happening here, and the length and texture are sublime. If you like your Barossa Shiraz stamped 'pulls no punches', this is likely to make you very happy indeed.
A smooth and rich, mid weight Coonawarra Cab with luscious red and dark fruit, bell pepper, tomato leaf, plum and herbals all on the go. The oak here is French, the acid just right and tannin finish finely polished. A lovely wine.
A rich and satisfying, full bodied Barossa Shiraz offering generous and intense dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, cherries, plum and spice. Cedary oak is evident too. Ask us about mates rates on this one!
