Cooper Burns is the coming together of Mark Cooper who was a senior winemaker for Treasury and Russell Burns who used to make wines for Torbreck. These two mates now produce tiny quantities of excellent vino from the best fruit they can get their hands on. The 2010 Reserve is old vine, barrel select, Barossa Shiraz aged to perfection. Just 100 dozen bottles were made. It is explosively rich, thick and unctuous, oozing chocolate and liquorice, blackberries and plums, moving into leathery notes and finishing with fine tannins. A massive wine softened to perfection over the passage of years.

Cooper Burns is a partnership between Russell Burns (ex Torbreck) and Mark Cooper, former senior winemaker for Treasury, winemaker for Constellation, E&J Gallo and Pernod Ricard. They produce tiny quantities of high-quality wines primarily from the Barossa and Eden Valleys, with the odd delve into Adelaide Hills Chardy.
