Claymore Joshua Tree Watervale Riesling 2018

A properly stunning example of a Clare Valley Riesling. Zesty floral and citrus aromas lead to fine boned acid and minerality. Little wonder Windsor Dobbin rates this edition as one of the best Rieslings from all of the Clare Valley.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

A 5 star James Halliday rated winery, Claymore wines began in 1997 with just a tiny amount of Grenache and Riesling but have flourished into one of Clare Valley’s best known producers. They signed a 3-year contract in 2015 with English Football giants Liverpool, much to the dismay of our Manchester United tasting panel member Dan. Even Dan, though, cannot let his football bias affect how truly great the Claymore wines are! Their labels are inspired by some of the great music of the modern times, from Pink Floyd to Prince to The Verve and even a little Stevie Wonder. All in all, fantastic wines with an edgy feel. Whether you want to open a bottle and belt out a riff, or warm up the vocals and sing “you’ll never walk alone,” Claymore have you covered!

Customer Reviews

Will improve for a few years.

Claymore Joshua Tree Watervale Riesling 2017 - Less aromatic and more restrained than most 2017 Rieslings from the Clare. Tastes more like a 2016, long and lean, will improve for a few years. 92+ points. BUY.

minerality report

Can definitely taste that minerality you were talking about. Not sure on the names Claymore have given their wines, but the stuff in the bottle sure is good.
