Chateau Yaldara Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

An abundance of rich and ripe fruit, in a blackberry and mulberry fashion give way to a gentle herbal undertone, finishing with a hit of dark and sticky fruit. Lipsmacking! It drinks well from the first pop of the cork, but would cellar happily in the dungeon for another few years at least.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

1847 Wines and Chateau Yaldara are the same beast. The reference to 1847 in the full winery branding (1847 / Yaldara Wines) is a tad confusing perhaps, referring to the year the Governor granted the land on which the property resides. It is also the same year in which Johann Gramp first planted vines in the Barossa. Yaldara Estate itself was founded a hundred years later when Hermann Thumm began making Barossa wines. The word Yaldara comes from a local indigenous word meaning sparkling.
