Cabsolutely Shirazulous

Price as configured: $160.00

Darlings, make no mistake – this collection is absolutely fabulous, featuring stunningly ripe and rich Shiraz from Curtis, a smashing savoury Shiraz from Lost Buoy with 93pts and Tim Adams' Bayes Block Clare Valley Shiraz, plenty of blue fruits here. Cabernets are from Glenlofty in the Pyrenees (2 golds), and two from Phil Lehmann in the form of Parker Coonwarra Estate’s ‘Favourite Son’ and ‘Mezzo’, a single site Terra Rossa vineyard situated halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne at Bool Lagoon. This one is a ripper with plenty of velvet dark fruit, dried herbs and gentle complexities. And just because we’re feeling fabulous, we’ve tossed in a 94pt 2015 McLaren Vale Curtis Limited Shiraz worth $100. 13 smashingly good wines good enough for your sweeties and dahhhlings.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Kick off the heels (you too lads) and enjoy these divine reds, perfect for any occasion. Curtis Heritage Shiraz is dark, rich and ripe showing plums, spice and black olive. Lost Buoy’s ‘The Edge’ is slightly lighter in style and is a great match for food with good acid and tannin. Tim Adams Bayes Block is consistent, cool climate Clare Valley lined with blue fruits and spiced aromatics. We’ve got some properly gorgeous Cabernets too with Glenlofty’s Single Vineyard 2011 double gold showing tomato leaf, a hint of cassis and dark fruits, a new vintage from Hesketh, ‘Mezzo’, grown in Terra Rossa soil showing plenty of dried lavender and sage with a dash of Coonawarra menthol over luscious dark fruit. From Parker Coonawarra Estate comes yet another juicy, black Cabernet, with good tannins. Feel free to hide this in the top cupboard for another 5-10 years. We’re also throwing in a 94pt, $100-a-bottle McLaren Vale Shiraz from Curtis 'cause we're good like that.
