CA ANZ Super Premium Red Baker’s Dozen including $150 Barossa Bonus
Old friends and new vintages in this pack, four bottles each of the following... First up is David Powell's magnificent, $150 a bottle, 2021 Neldner Rd Shiraz. It is opulent and sense-flooding. Aromas of gunsmoke, cedar, dark chocolate, coffee, meat stock and spice weave through rich waves of blueberry, black pepper and liquorice. It’s brooding, heady and powerful—Barossa at full throttle.. Next up is the new vintage of Manser 'Dad's Cut' Adelaide Hills shiraz. It might hail from the Adelaide Hills, but McLaren Vale is just down the driveway—and it shows. The Manser family draws on both regions to craft reds packed with powerful black fruits, nuance, and spice.. Finally, Yaldara's $250-a-bottle Grand Cuvee Barossa Shiraz. It's big - as you'd expect - but the oak, while evident, is on a tight leash, allowing the glorious fruit to really shine. Definitely decant or pop it in the dungeon for five or 10 years.
The bonus? A bottle of Stonehouse Neldner Vineyard Barossa Shiraz. This is a magnificent example of rich, full bodied Barossa Shiraz, sourced from a variety of super premium vineyards that used to supply Penfolds St Henri, RWT and E&E Black Pepper Shiraz

Awards: TBA every previous vintage has scored 96 or above and we think this is the best release yet
Just the fourth release of Yaldara Grand, and arguably the best so far, with its incredible concentration of fruit and use of exceptional oak. A big wine and a complex expression of the Barossa. Milk and dark chocolate, aniseed, blue fruits, tobacco leaf, plus plenty of cedary oak and tannin. Incredible.
The Inspiration
In 1842, 28 Silesian families arrived in the Barossa, bringing with them generations of viticultural wisdom. They settled in Bethany, purchased land from George Fife Angas, and laid the foundations of what would become one of the world’s great wine regions. Today, their descendants still tend the ancient vines of the Valley.
Dave Powell’s 2021 ‘The Silesian’ is a tribute to these pioneers—a wine steeped in history and crafted with reverence.
It might hail from the Adelaide Hills, but McLaren Vale is just down the driveway—and it shows. The Manser family draws on both regions to craft reds packed with powerful black fruits, nuance, and spice.
Made from: Shiraz grown right on the boundary between Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale.
Aromas & Flavours: Blueberries, black fruits, spice, a touch of eucalypt, and creamy vanilla.
Drink it if you like: Pepperjack Shiraz
What to eat: This is a red that’s comfortable alongside a premium cut of beef, but versatile enough to crack open anytime.
Backstory: The vineyard was once owned by Tim James—former Hardys senior winemaker, Wirra Wirra MD, wine show judge and all-round industry legend. The Mansers have since poured in time, money, and care to bring it to its full potential.
There are so many exciting talking points in this pack, but let’s start with the Italian wines. We have already featured Conte di Campiano in the past, but the Nero di Troia is a new wine to us. It has plums, black pepper and tobacco and is super silky. Relatively high in acidity backed by plenty of fine tannins. Very slurpable indeed. The other is the Vini Giribaldi Rie Organic Barbera di Alba Riserva 2015. Packed to the brim with red berries and assertive acidity. Definitely decant this one to see the best of it. The other exciting aspect of the pack is new wines from Lone Palm Vineyard and Stonehouse. The Lone Palm Hillside Shiraz and Crossings Shiraz are both sourced from the prized Marananga sub-region of the Barossa Valley. Each vineyard shows different use of French and American oak, but they both have something in common; they are amazing. The Stonehouse Reserve Quartz Block Icon Shiraz is the big one, a massive $150RRP and just as big and powerful as the price tag. Black and blue fruit packaged with some chocolate and cinnamon and fine oak tannin. Delicious. Through the Tasting Glass Cheshire Cat Shiraz is another stunning Barossa Valley Shiraz made by Andrew Hardy. It has violets along with black and blue fruits galore and it is definitely a prospect for the cellar. Some familiar faces you should find in the pack include the delicious Manser Dad’s Block Shiraz, from our own Phil Manser, Heirloom’s stunning new vintage of their Barossa Shiraz and a pair of premiums from Martins Vineyard and Richard Hamilton Centurion. There is also a lovely new Shiraz from Wits End Atlas that needs no cellaring, it is best enjoyed fresh and juicy. The last wine in the bunch is the Kilikanoon Meymans Shiraz Cabernet. Clare Valley is best known for Riesling, but Shiraz and Cabernet, especially under the watchful eye of Kevin Mitchell this Shiraz Cab is a belter. There you have it, all that premium red with a massive $600 off the RRP. Merry Christmas indeed!
