Made primarily from Tempranillo with low yielding plantings dating back to the 1940s, this Tinta de Toro offers concentrated black fruit aromas including blackberry and black cherry, combined with earthy notes of liquorice, tobacco, and cocoa. Aging adds complexity, bringing in flavours of vanilla, coconut, and spices like clove, while the palate is marked by powerful, firm tannins that are balanced with a sophisticated, fine-grained texture, leading to a long, complex finish with minerality and spice.

This might seem like a strange one, but I can honestly say that this combo really works. Usually, when you think of burgers you lean towards a beer, or even a nice glass of red. The freshness of the apple, spice coming through from the tomato jam, and the addition of pork had me leaning towards a Riesling.
